'DINOSAUR DAZE' continue!
The SK's will continue their exploration of dinosaurs with Shared Reading, read alouds, dinosaur egg counting and stamping, "Different Dinosaurs" mini-books, 3-D art of an ankylosaurus (using sunflower seeds), songs, and a dinosaur fossil kit (the kids will use the tools of paleontologists to uncover dinosaur fossils!). Students will also incorporate the new vocabulary they have been learning into a fun (and funny) writing activity (picture your child as a dinosaur...and their description of themselves to go with it!). Watch for these 'ferocious' photos and write-ups!
We will wrap up our week with a little 'Dinosaur Shin Dig' on Friday! We'll wear our dino masks, sing songs and eat some 'dino' treats!
SKIP COUNTING
The children will also continue skip counting. Please keep counting at home (by 1's to at least 30, by 2's to 20, 5's to 25 and 10's to 100). Keep it fun!
SHOW AND SHARE
The March Show and Share schedule will be sent home today. The focus this month is 'skip counting'! Watch for our new "Dinosaur Counting Carrier". Please be sure to keep the case in a safe place (away from younger siblings and pets), as it contains small items. Thank you!
SCHOLASTIC
March book orders are due this Wednesday, March 9.
MARCH BREAK
March Break runs from Monday, March 14-18. Enjoy!
AT HOME READING
Thanks to everyone for making the At Home Reading program so successful! Please note that new books will not be sent home over March Break.
LIBRARY
New library books will not be signed out this week, but please be sure to RETURN ALL BOOKS. Thanks!
KINDERGARTEN TRIP, March 22
We are in the process of finalizing plans for a trip to the Museum of Nature on Tuesday, March 22. All of the Kinder classes, as well as the DD class and the Carleton Heights Child Care Centre will be going. As such, we will be running the trip in the morning (8:55-11:25) and there will be NO AFTERNOON CLASS that day. Please watch for further details and information will be sent home soon!
Thank you for checking in. I wish you a peaceful week and a wonderful March Break!
Warmly
